The Tower « Thread Started on May 5, 2005, 9:30pm »
Ah, the infamous Tower of London. Built by the famous Norman, William the Conqueror, nearly a thousand years ago. Dear old William had even started building his tower the same year as his invasion, 1066. Interestingly enough, the Norman invasion was also the last successful invasion of this country. If nothing else, the British were brave. After all, what other country had kept itself from being invaded for nearly one thousand years? And this historic tower was an almost.... sacred landmark to the country. Many people misconstrued it as being haunted and feared and terribly bloody. Well...it had a bloody history but it certainly wasn't haunted and the people of England certainly didn't fear the Tower.... or at least not any more.
Armand sighed and shoved his hands into the pockets of his leather coat, allowing his gaze to drift across the stone walls of this famous tower. At the moment, he was standing alone in the dark cortyard. Here, so many people had been beheaded. Many of wives of Henry the VIII had been killed here.... and so many others had been killed as well. But beheading was an easy death...Wasn't it? Or at least it was better than being hung to death or trampled or stoned to death.... Armand was trying to imagine what it would have been like to have been here back in the towers glory days.
Hadn't Queen Elizabeth the First been a prisoner here for some time? Yes. Her sister, Mary, had ordered her to be imprisoned here. Queen Mary, had died soon afterwards.. which in the end was probably the best thing she did for England. She'd been bloodthirsty and slaughtered anyone who happened to not be Catholic. Queen Elizabeth on the other hand was remembered as one of England's greatest monarchs ...absolutly brilliant. But of course, that whole royal family had been quite brilliant.
Ah, but enough history! He knew enough history to bore anyone to death. Surprisingly he looked rather healthy for someone stalking the grounds of the Tower Of London at this time of night. He'd fed already this evening.... killed one of the many con artists that could be found on London's streets. That was the main reason that he didn't look like death itself at the moment. It would have been fitting if he'd looked ghostly and vicious... but he didn't. And why was he here in London? Why had he come to England of all the places on earth? He liked the place to be perfectly honest. It was interesting.

((That's ok, the only reason my intro for this thread was interesting is because I know a hell of a lot about British history... I'm quite obsessed with it actually.))

(This will be extemely difficult, i only RPEd her once, in Theater De Vampires, I only have 1 desc pre-mad eof her. Here it is, but I changed Theater to tower, so excuse mistakes)
The moon just sneaked up behind the clouds, people walking by with quickness from the incoming rain. If someone whould have been paying attention, they would notice a young girl running down the street. Clusters of peoples formed a group at random street curbs waiting to cross and to be directed with glowing lights and flashes. A light thunder could be heard, and rain began to collect on the streets and fall from the sky. The cold made her lungs take in more air, the lights of the streets flooding her with light, then with shadow as she passes anouther area of coverage.
French could be heard on others tongues, as they shot up umbrellas with haste. Her tiny white shift clinging to her small form, brown hair rippeling down her back, curls decorateing her face and shadowing her hazel orbs. Her lungs screamed, begging to take in more oxygen, pleading to stop. Her legs kept running, crazed and wild she fled down the sidewalk, sharp turn to the left and confused stares following her. She readajusted her bag, slung over her shoulder and stops in her prusuit. Now deep breaths are took, long brown hair curling, soft round face expresssionless as wide hazel eyes look to the tower she leans upon, she looks left, hair flying witht he quick motion.
She now narrows her eyes, long lashes seeming to brush her cheeks, spotting a door, a backdoor to the obvious abondoned structure. She takes swift steps, not noticeing the puddles scatterd the pavement, she opens the door and slides in. Dark, only darkness. She lets out a tiny gasp, the child of ten fumbles blidely. Now bending, her hair falling over her shoulders, takes out matches from her bag acompanied with a short candle. Now lighted, a tiny light surround her child like face. The beautiful youth walks around the empty Tower.

((I'll reply to this tomarrow... I'm feeling a bit brain dead at the moment. I spent seven hours in the car today so my mind's not working all that well.))

Armand walked silently through the moonlit courtyard, his gaze focused on the historical replicas of things like the gallows and the blocks upon which many a person had been decapatated. It was quite.... frightening actually. It was different than going to someplace like a cemetary where the people who were there had died long before coming to their rest in the ground. The people who's memories lingered here had been killed in this very place. Ah well, most of them had deserved death, and Armand couldn't say he was scared. Imagine that, a vampire being scared? A rather silly thought, was it not?
Armand frowned, the corners of his lips creasing ever so slightly as he did so. What would it have been like to have been a prisoner of this place? The arburn haired vampire could only imagine how horrid it would have been.
It was rather like the Bastile (sp?) in France, the whole place reeked of death and torture. But perhaps Armand was being a bit hypocritical? Surely, he'd killed just as many people as had been prisoners here at the Tower Of London... So he really wasn't in a position to be judgemental.

(sry SO SHORT, im in huge hurry and brain dead, so sry! Cant think much, since Armand did nt ecnoledge she s here.)
Juliet walked slowly into the darkend tower, she let out a gasp, the sound echoing of the walls. Hersmall hand was quick to cover her lips, tiny lips like rosebuds. She inhaled and exhaled deeply, her heart quickening. She pulled her only belonging, her bad, onto her shoulder as she wanderd. Her hand clings to her only companion, her Pan Pipes. She walkes up steps, slowly, she soon enterd anouther hall. She looks aorund, frightend, but knowing this is at east some shelter from the rain. 'You little brat, dont both those people with your questions, your music!' Said the voice in her head, the far off memory of her life in the Orphanage, Sister Rose, the head Nun was not fond of the cheerful child. Only trying to help, tryign to help, she thought as he bag fell to the stone floor.
She sighed, his wide as her lips press gently against the pipes, her intrument held by two small eger hands. Soon enough, notes spilled out after notes, a small sad tune, something to guideher through the lonly halls, her wet dress clinging to her form, hair dripping from the rain. Juliet plays on, a little Pan with a cherubic face.

Armand was only faintly aware that it was indeed raining... but it didn't really matter much, even if he was standing out in the middle of the courtyard... Actually, he didn't mind the rain at all, it was somewhat refreshing. But it rained so much here in England didn't it? He imagined the locals were probably sick of the rain. Well, that was just too damned bad for them. Hell, he was a vampire and he had all sorts of problems but he managed to get along without complaining about it all the time. So, humans didn't really have anything to complain about... or at least not as much to complain about as he did.
But there was someone else here, visiting the Tower of London... But who were they? They were human weren't they? Hmm... what was a mortal doing here at this hour of the night? He sighed and turned to walk back into the hallways of the tower. Maybe he ought to go find this mortal.

(short in hurry, sorry, I have 5 other boards to reply too)
Juliet played on softly, walking through the empty halls, the music bounceing off the cold stone walls as her pupils dialate to gather up light. Her brown hair rippled over her back, wet and dripping, as curls decorated her forehead. She inhaled deeply, her instrument now at rest as she turns a corner, fixing her bag.
"They wont fine me here....I hope..." She thought outload, looking around in various rooms, thinking of th elast time she ran from the Orphanage.

A few minutes later, Armand had found the mortal. Of course, he hadn't said anything to her yet, he would follow her from the shadows, remaining silent as he did so.
'what,' Armand wondered in silence to himself 'reason could she possibly have for being here?' Of course, he could just scan her mind for the answer but he'd prefer to ask her in person. He sighed and moved out of the shadows. "Hello." he said, moving to stand beside the young mortal woman.

(Writers block, big hurry, beware of now stupidity!)
Juliets large eyes swelled, those light brown orbs blinked slowly, long lashes of ebony strokeing her rounded cheeks. Long hair rippiled over her slim shoulders, tiny lips like rosebuds lay slack as she stared up at Armand.
Her tiny fingers enclosed on the wooden instrument, she quickly his it behind her back, images flooding into her mind.
The Orphanage, and Sister Mary was not fun. As the old nun tugged her into the secret room. "You brat! How many times must I tell you!" She scolds, other girls snickering with narrowed eyes.
Juliet inhaled deeply, placeing a smile upon her cherubic face. "Hello...Im sorry, I did not mean to come into your tower!" She said, her words quick and frantic, but she was not frigtend, actully happy she was not the only soal in the large place.

"Well, there's no need to appologize. This place doesn't belong to me. I believe the city of London owns this particular tower. But none the less, someone your age probably shouldn't be here at this time of night." Armand said, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Why are you here anyways?" he asked, deciding not to introduce himself untill she asked who he was. Of course, he couldn't tell her who he really was... and he didn't particularly want to. "Shouldn't you be at home with your... parents or something?" it was rather presumptuious of him to ask these questions but he wasn't in a particularly polite mood. ((sorry, short.))

juliet stared at him, eyes wide, her tiny lips like petals of a rose now slack as she brushes a stray curl from her rounded cheeks, she sighs.
"I...I, my parents are out of town" She quickly replied, thinking that she should have not lied, she was never good at that and she hated doing so.
She looked away, her eyes now stareing and the frighting darkness behidn her. "Besides, im not scared..." She stated, hands behind her back as she leaned back and forth, a sqeak of a rat that scurried by made her jump, and back up against the wall, she stares at Armand with weary eyes.
"Well,...I didnt see that...that was merely suprise!" she said with a weak smile, her rounded hands clinging to her PanPipe, her bag resting at her side.
"who are you?" She asked, now looking to him calmy, fascinated by the beautiful form that stood before her, wanting to reach out to see if he was indeed real.

Armand shrugged, "That's a bit irrisponsible of them don't you think? To just let you wander around London like this?" He knew she wasn't telling the truth about her parents, but he couldn't just tell her that... she'd wonder how the hell he'd figured that out... and he was pretty sure that she wouldn't be too thrilled to find out he was a vampire. So, for now, he would let the subject of this girls parents go.
"And I'm sure you aren't afraid of this place.... What's to be afraid of? It's just extreamly old... not to mention that hundreds of people have lost their lives in this very building." He said with a laugh. He wasn't trying to be mean, he just didn't believe most of what this young woman was saying.
"Anyways, my name is.... George. I live about a mile from here." Now he was the one telling lies. But what the hell else could he say? He couldn't tell her that he was the Vampire Armand. And he didn't want her to think he was some sort of tourist either... even though he didn't live anywhere near this place.

Juliet let a small smile creep upon her cherubic face, brown curls daneing umoung her rounded cheeks as she thought upon his words and the ones she will choose to answer.
"I, I supppose. They are not good parents, besides, I can take care of myself!" She added her small hands on her hips as she gave him a determined look, even thuogh, of cource she was not able to care for herself at this age.
"Your right, it isn,t so scary. but, I guess the hundreds who died might frighten some,...but not me" She said, a small laugh escaping her tiny rosebud like lips. At hsi laugh, she knew, or judges that she was not to convinceing.
"Nice to meet you...George. Im Juliet, kinda like from the Shakespeare. I live...away from here to" She said, noe re adjusting her tiny bag that was slung over her shoulder, trying to brush away th econstant memory of the mean Nuns.
Re: The Tower « Reply #21 on Jun 28, 2005, 8:41pm »
"Of course you can take care of yourself." Armand said, false sincerity in his voice which wasn't exactly friendly but wasn't hostile either. "Well...I should think your parents are absolute idiots. Why else would they let such a fine young woman like you run off to someplace like this in the middle of the night. Of course, there's always the possibility that you could be lying to me. I mean, for all I know you could be some sort of ghost... doomed to haunt this place for all eaternity." He laughed, not allowing his fangs to show. NO, he wouldn't let this girl know what he was. He didn't even want to kill her... she was so innocent after all.
"I.... Of course....I don't believe in that sort of thing though... it's all nonsense if you ask me!" He stumbled with these words at first but the last part of the sentence came out strong, and even rather determined. But why the determination? Well, it was all an act, wasn't it? He wanted this kid to trust him.

Her eyes widend at the mention of Ghosts. Long tresses of brown hair rippled over her slender shoulders, tiny hands re-gripping her grey bag. She blinked slowly, her small lips like petals slack as she looks to the immortal with wonder, eyes seeming like liquid.
"Yes, they are idiots..." She replied with haste, her voice mimicing a doves singing call. Her cherubic face peers to Armand with inquisitiveness, Juliet lets out a sigh. Her plump arms resting to her side as the bag lays neglected on the floor. " They, they are not around alot..." She murmerd, her large eyes shifting around the frightening tower as her attention returns to Armand. She ehars his last comment, her brows raise as she looks to him, her tiny form motionless. " Yeah, I dont beleve.. in such a thing either! Why should I?" She asked, trying to seem brave. The beautiful youth looked around, examineing a spider upon the stone wall.
